Why putting less pressure on academics might be the best thing you do.
Of course grades matter - a bit. But not as much as your teen currently believes, and almost certainly not as much as their school is telling them.
Ten years out, no one is going to ask about a GCSE result. They will, however, remember whether home felt like a place they could fail safely.
Make it explicit. Tell them you love them whether they pass or flunk. Then mean it on results day.
