How to keep your vegan teen healthy

After the heartbreaking death of Swansea student Georgina Owen, we're asking parents of vegan and vegetarian teens to share the early warning signs they noticed - and the supplements or routines that have actually worked.
If you've read the blog post about Georgina Owen, you'll know why this thread matters. B12 deficiency in long-term vegans can cause exhaustion, low mood, anxiety, brain fog, tingling in the hands and feet, mouth ulcers, dizziness, and - in severe cases - psychosis and suicidal thoughts. The symptoms creep up slowly and look a lot like ordinary teenage life.
Please share: which symptoms did you spot first? How did you raise it with your teen without making them defensive? What supplement, fortified food, or routine has actually stuck in your house? Photos of the brand or label welcome.
If you're worried about your teen's mental health right now, please contact your GP, NHS 111, Papyrus (0800 068 4141) or Samaritans (116 123).
